Julia Karis
Vice President of Finance

Julia Karis joined Clarus Ventures in 2009. With over ten years of venture capital experience, Julia served as the CFO for Orion Healthcare Equity Partners and has held various finance positions at Atlas Venture and MPM Capital.  

Prior to her career in venture capital, Julia worked as a senior auditor for Arthur Andersen and Fidelity Investments.

Julia received her MBA/MS in Accounting from Northeastern University and her BS in Mathematics from Tufts University.  She is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Christine Esguerra
Executive Assistant

Christine Esguerra provides administrative support for Kurt Wheeler and Bill Young. Prior to Clarus, Christine was with McKesson Health Solutions and Oncology Therapeutics Network.

Christine received a BA in Sports Science with a Minor in Occupational Therapy from the University of San Francisco.

Bill Engels
Fund Controller

Bill joined Clarus Ventures with three years experience as an auditor for Ercolini & Company. 

In 2006, Bill graduated with a BS in Accounting and Finance from Northeastern University. Bill received his certification as a Certified Public Accountant in March 2009.

Sarah Parker
Executive Assistant

Sarah Parker provides administrative support for Finny Kuruvilla and Scott Requadt. Prior to Clarus, Sarah was with Brown Brothers Harriman in the Investor Services department.

Sarah holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and has completed a continued education certificate in the meeting and event management program at Northeastern University.

Suzy DeVito
Executive Assistant

Suzy Devito provides administrative support for Dennis Henner and Nick Simon.

Prior to Clarus, Suzy has worked at First Interstate Bank,Wells Fargo and i2 Technologies.  

Jose Olivo
Network Technician

Prior to Clarus, Jose served 4 years in the United States Army. Jose holds a BS in telecommunications from DeVry Institute of Technology.

Markus Orchowski
Head of Information Technology

Markus Orchowski brings with him more than 15 years of IT Management experience.  Prior to joining Clarus Ventures, Mr. Orchowski was instrumental in ensuring network, application, and data availability for in-house and remote employees of Modern Continental.  Mr. Orchowski developed web-based applications that streamlined request authorizations, disseminated information throughout the organization which facilitated project tracking, and ensured security of data. 

His expertise includes Networking, Storage, Backups, Exchange, Telephony, and web-based application development.

Markus Orchowski has a BS from Northeastern University in Computer Engineering.

Kayla Seaman
Executive Assistant

Kayla Seaman provides administrative support for Nick Galakatos. Prior to Clarus, Kayla was with Carlson GMAC Real Estate. 

Kayla holds a BA from the University of New Hampshire.

Lisa Marlette
Executive Assistant

Lisa Marlette provides administrative support for Michael Steinmetz and Robert Liptak.

In 2001 Lisa received a BS in Biology and a BA in English from Connecticut College. Lisa is currently pursuing an MBA from Boston University in the Health Sector Management and Operations program. 

Teresa McCoy
Executive Assistant

Teresa McCoy provides administrative support for Emmett Cunningham and Michele Park. Prior to joining Clarus, Teresa was with Jefferies Broadview and Visa International.  

Teresa attended Maryknoll College in the Philippines.
